What is Spiritual House Cleansing?
Smudge/Clearing Spray
Using Smudge Spray for spiritual house cleansing is something you can do yourself. You can spray round the house; around every window and door, and around the walls of every room. The use of Smudge/Clearing Spray and prayers are very effective ways to cleanse your house of negative energy and to get rid of earth-bound souls and darker entities. Before spraying, make sure to clear your mind and set your intention with spiritual house cleansing prayers. You can also include a house cleansing chant to enhance your focus. Cleansing your home of spirits with plant material and/or essential oils is one of the easiest spiritual cleansing rituals. It’s quick to do and still has the effect of removing negative entities and earth-bound spirits. Use the essential oils that come in a spray bottle and just spray it around your home, especially when you feel low or have had an argument with someone. As you do this, set your intention, and say something like: ”I remove all negative energies from this space with the energy of love and light.”
Much of the act of Clearing Space is in your will and intent. First, make sure all doors and windows are open so that the negative energy can leave your home. Using the enclosed Clearing/Smudge Spray, spray a fine mist into the corners, toward ceilings, and other small areas of your home, especially since these places can accumulate negative energy over time. We like to start our cleansing practice at the front door, which helps keep out negative energy from the outside.
Using the fine mist, follow the perimeter of the door and work your way around the edge of each room, paying special attention to areas where there were arguments, such as living rooms and bedrooms. To go even deeper with your cleansing, you can also say a mantra out loud, which will resonate with your heart and also enhance the energy field with the sound of your voice.
